Cooking with the family is a fantastic idea, especially if we choose healthy and balanced dishes. We must not forget that child obesity is a serious health problem nowadays. In Cosentino Group, we know that we need to foster healthy habits since early ages, and that is why we are part of the initiative “Te cuento en la cocina”, a cooking contest in which parents and children can learn to cook together.
The action was put forward by Carrefour and was a result of a children's book written by Ferran Adrià, with more than 60 recipes inspired by the Disney, Marvel, Pixar and Star Wars universe. Our contribution: 28 Silestone® and Dekton® countertops over which hundreds of families had cooked together.
Here you can watch the contest and the great final, attended by Ferran Adrià himself and Aimar San Miguel (Mastercfef Junior Spain contestant), Santos Ruiz (food critic), Monaguillo (stand-up comedian) and the 16 families in contest. The magical award for the 6 winning families was a trip to Euro Disney.
Among the 28 countertops witnesses of easy recipes for children, those who managed to win their attention the most were the ultracompact surfaces Dekton® XGloss, with a dazzling shine, and the most vivid hues of Silestone®, such as Acqua Fracarolli or the intense red in Rosso Monza.
We are also currently working together with Carrefour in the “Health Rolling Show”, a moving exhibition of cooking shows that show parents and their children the benefits of a healthy and balance way of life.
Moreover, our Silestone® Institute offers tips about handling food at home and shows how to easily avoid kitchen cross-contamination. It all get explained in a fun and playful way, so children and adults can enjoy it.
