It is possible to go for a 3/4" + 3/4" (2cm + 2cm) edge, thereby giving the impression of 1-1/2" (4cm) thick stone (a narrow piece of 3/4" -2cm- is laminated on to the underside of the 3/4" -2cm- slab along the edge).
