Cosentino North America invites all designers to share their work in a renovated project with a Silestone countertop application in a commercial or residential setting.
You can register to enter the Silestone® Ugly Kitchen contest at www.silestoneusa.com/contest. Registration deadline is March 30, 2010. Submissions. Submit all entries online between July 1 and March 30, 2010. Enter as many projects as you like. Images. Digital renderings and photographs should be clear, clean, and high-quality. There is a minimum of two (2) and a maximum of four (4) images (renderings, photographs, per entry). Required is at least one "Before- Overall" image and at least one "After-Overall" image, that best displays your Silestone Kitchen design or makeover. Digital images should be in JPEG format and less than 2 MB in size or equivalent to a 4" x 6" photograph. Project Description. Entrants may enter the contest by fully completing and submitting the entry form available in the Web site www.silestoneusa.com/contest, and must submit photograph(s) (minimum size 4" x 6", digital full color) of their Silestone project with an official entry form accompanied with a brief description, by the designer, of the inspiration behind the project (no more than 250 words). All projects submitted must show use of any one of the Silestone specific series. Links of video entries will be accepted in addition to the still photographs, but cannot replace the photography requirement. Multiple entries are allowed per person/email address or postal address. Internet entries will be deemed made by the authorized account holder of the email address submitted at the time of entry. The authorized account holder is the natural person who is assigned to the email address by an internet access provider, online server provider or other organization that is responsible by assigning email address or the domain associated with the submitted email address. Cosentino North America is not responsible for entries not received due to difficulty accessing the Internet, service outage or delays, computer difficulties or other technological glitches. Deadline for entries is March 30, 2010 by 5:00 p.m.
The travel dates will be provided by Cosentino with a three-week advance notice. In the event that the winner can not attend those dates additional dates will be provided in 2010. Winners will be responsible for their travel documents (i.e. passports, visa, vaccinations if needed/desired, etc.)
The contest is open to all natural persons (not corporate or business entities) who are kitchen and bath designers who are 18 years of age or older and who legally reside in participating states of the Silestone Ugly Kitchen Contest. Employees of Cosentino North America, its licensee, its corporate parents, subsidiaries and affiliates, its advertising agencies, participating sponsors/promotional partners, and the members of its immediate families (and/or households) are ineligible to participate or win.
Contestants are required to provide truthful information and Cosentino North America will reject and delete any entry that it discovers to be false or fraudulent. Cosentino North America will also disqualify and delete any entry received from persons under the age of 18.
There are going to be three categories: small (up to 25 square feet), medium (between 26 and 49 square feet), and large (50 square feet and up).
Each category will have a Grand Prize, a first runner-up prize, and a second runner-up prize. The Grand Prize is a trip to Spain (one Grand Prize awarded for each category) valued in $5,000 each. Any difference between the stated value and the actual value will not be awarded. In each category, the first runner-up will receive a cash prize of $2,000 and the second runners-up will receive a cash prize of $1,000.
The Grand Prize Winners (one for each category) will be awarded a complimentary trip for two (2) with a two-night stay in Barcelona, two-night stay in Macael where a tour of the Cosentino factory will be given, and one-night stay in Almeria. Approximate value of prize is not to exceed $5,000. Actual value of prizes will vary based upon location of departure and airfare and hotel price fluctuations. Any difference between stated value and actual value will not be awarded. Prize includes the following: transportation to Spain, one night of hotel before and after the scheduled events, and meals. No cash-spending allowance will be provided. Prizes are non-transferable with no cash redemption or equivalent. NO PRIZE SUBSTITUTION WILL BE ACCEPTED.
The prizes are expressly limited to the item(s) listed above and do not include taxes, gratuities or any other expenses which are the sole responsibility of the prize winner. Other restrictions may apply.
Decisions of Cosentino North America management with respect to the contest are final. One Grand Price Winner for each category (small, medium, and large), three runners-up (one for each category) and a bottom of three runners-up (one for each category) will be selected by the judges of Cosentino North America. The choosing of winners in the contest is highly subjective in nature; therefore winners of the contest are in Cosentino North America's sole discretion. Potential prize winners will be posted online by April 15th. If winner is unreachable, or if winner is unavailable for prize fulfillment, an alternate winner will be selected from all remaining eligible entries received. Any attempted prize notification which is returned as undeliverable may result in disqualification, in which case a selection of another winner may take place.
Unless otherwise notified, prize certificates will be mailed to prizewinners upon completion of the contest. Cosentino North America is not responsible for the safe arrival of a prize certificate. The winner will forfeit any prize certificate not claimed within 30 days of winning.
The Grand Prize Winner may waive his or her right to receive the Grand Prize. The Grand Prize is non-assignable and nontransferable. No cash equivalents or substitutions allowed by Grand Prize Winner. The Grand Prize and individual components of the Grand Prize package are subject to availability and Cosentino North America reserves the right to substitute any prize or prize component with a prize or component of equal or greater retail value. The Grand Prize Winner is solely responsible for all taxes on the Grand Prize and Cosentino North America will issue an IRS Form 1099 to Grand Prize Winner for the final value of the Grand Prize at the conclusion of the renovation project. The Grand Prize Winner will be required to complete an affidavit of eligibility, and a liability and publicity release (except where prohibited by law) which must be returned within ten (10) days of date of Cosentino North America's postmark. Failure to timely sign and return the affidavit or release, or to comply with any term or condition of these Official Rules, may result in the Grand Prize Winner's disqualification, the forfeiture of his or her interest in the Grand Prize, and the award of the Grand Prize to a substitute winner. Except where prohibited by law, acceptance of any prize constitutes the Grand Prize Winner's consent to the Cosentino North America's use of his or her name, biographical information, voice and likeness in any media for any commercial, programming or promotional purpose (including, without limitation, use on the Web site of Cosentino North America and/or its affiliates) without any compensation and for purposes of complying with all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. If the Grand Prize is not won and claimed by an eligible winner in accordance with these Official Rules, the Grand Prize will not be awarded and will remain the property of Cosentino North America.
Odds of winning depend upon the number of entries received.
THIS CONTEST IS INTENDED FOR THE UNITED STATES ONLY AND SHALL BE GOVERNED BY AND CONSTRUED AND INTERPRETED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LAWS OF THE UNITED STATES. ENTRY IN THIS CONTEST CONSTITUTES ACCEPTANCE OF THESE OFFICIAL CONTEST RULES. Contest entrants agree to abide by the terms of these Official Rules and by the decisions of Cosentino North America which are final on all matters pertaining to Contests. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply.
Payments of all federal, state and local taxes are solely the responsibility of the winners. Winners may be required to sign an IRS Form W-9 or the equivalent.
By participating in the contest, the winner or winners agree to have their name, voice, photos or likeness used on the web, in any advertising, in any social media, or broadcasting material relating to this contest without additional financial or other compensation, and, where legal, to sign a publicity release confirming such consent prior to acceptance of the prize.
Prior to awarding any prize or prize certificate, Cosentino North America in its sole discretion may require contest winners to sign a liability release, agreeing to hold Cosentino North America, its corporate licensee, its parent, subsidiary and affiliated corporations, and its officers, shareholders, directors, employees, agents and representatives of harmless against any and all claims or liability arising directly or indirectly from the prize or participation in the contest.
Cosentino North America reserves the right to disqualify any person tampering with the entry process, the operation of the Cosentino North America Web Site or is otherwise in violation of the rules. Cosentino North America further reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate or modify the contest.
Cosentino North America reserves the right to make changes in the rules of the contest, including the substitution of a prize or equivalent value, which will become effective upon announcement.
Failure to comply with the contest rules may result in a contestant's disqualification solely at the discretion of Cosentino North America.
Cosentino North America is not responsible for typographical or other errors in the printing, the offering or the administration of the contest, or in the announcement of a prize.

The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision of these rules shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision. In the event that any such provision is determined to be invalid or otherwise unenforceable, these rules shall be construed in accordance with their terms as if the invalid or unenforceable provision was not contained therein.
